Project Portfolio
One of our solar projects – Hinwil (Switzerland)
On the roofs of FERAG AG in Hinwil, a photovoltaic system is being installed on an area of approximately 9,000 square meters – roughly the size of 1.2 soccer fields. The work will be carried out in stages and is expected to be completed in March 2023. The photovoltaic system consists of 2,632 solar modules, which are being manufactured in Germany by the Swiss company Meyer Burger Technology AG instead of in China. These modules generate an average of 1,100,000 kilowatt hours of solar power per year, covering about 40% of FERAG’s in-house demand in Hinwil and equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 211 households in Switzerland.
FERAG is one of the most innovative companies in Switzerland. So, it’s no surprise that the company invests not only in research and development for its customers and markets, but also in environmentally friendly and forward-thinking solutions. With the commissioning of the solar system, FERAG will become more independent of the electricity market. Additionally, the solution is a low-maintenance and lucrative energy source, and another step towards the consistent implementation of the sustainability goals to which the company has committed. The project was realized from the very expert Solar Engineers of the daughter company of Groupe Curie Solar – Cimec AG (Switzerland).
