Our Technology Platform

Eight specialist engineering domains — from renewable generation and storage to green chemistry, zero-waste processes and project development.

Solar

Utility-scale PV, Agri-PV, bifacial tracker systems, rooftop and façade integration — designed, built and operated to IEC standards.

Our standard 5 MW Agri-PV configuration uses 7 040 bifacial 710 Wp modules on 176 DEGER S100-AG-DR single-axis trackers, achieving a performance ratio of 81%. We deploy half-cut PERC and TOPCon bifacial modules with 25-year linear power warranty. Agri-PV configurations allow simultaneous agricultural and energy production — an increasing requirement on Italian and Swiss sites.

Solid-State Hydrogen Storage — Metal Hydride Systems

Beyond compression and liquefaction — Groupe Curie integrates solid-state metal hydride hydrogen storage into its hydrogen projects, offering a safe, compact and low-pressure alternative to conventional high-pressure cylinders.

Metal Hydride Technology Principle

Solid-state hydrogen storage uses metal alloys that absorb hydrogen atoms directly into their crystal lattice — storing H₂ at low pressure (≤ 30 bar) compared to conventional high-pressure vessels (350–700 bar). The process is fully reversible: hydrogen is absorbed exothermically (charging) and released endothermically (discharging) through controlled temperature and pressure management.

  • Storage pressure: low (≤ 30 bar) — no high-pressure vessel regulations
  • Zero explosion risk — no pressurised gas release on containment failure
  • High volumetric H₂ density — more H₂ per litre than compressed gas
  • Thermally managed absorption/desorption cycle
  • Modular rack architecture — scalable from kWh to MWh equivalent
  • Compatible with PEM electrolysers and fuel cells

Green Chemistry & Ammonia

Green ammonia synthesis, green chemical compounds and sustainable industrial materials — powered by renewable energy.

Groupe Curie engineers green ammonia plants using the Haber-Bosch process fed by renewable hydrogen and atmospheric nitrogen. With carbon intensity approaching zero, green ammonia serves as a fertiliser, an energy carrier and a hydrogen transport medium. Our scope extends to green specialty chemicals and sustainable materials synthesis — all integrated with zero-waste process design principles.

  • Green ammonia via Haber-Bosch with renewable H₂
  • Green compound and specialty chemical production
  • Sustainable fertiliser-grade ammonia supply
  • Ammonia-to-power and energy-carrier export

Zero-Waste & Circular Processes

Groupe Curie designs closed-loop industrial plants — process water recirculation, heat recovery, by-product valorisation, zero-waste operation.

Zero-waste engineering is built into every Groupe Curie project at the design stage — not added as an afterthought. We close material and energy loops through process water recirculation systems, heat recovery networks, biogas capture and CHP integration, and by-product valorisation chains that convert waste streams into revenue-generating products. Plants are designed for zero-waste certification and continuous KPI monitoring.

  • Closed-loop process water and effluent recirculation
  • Heat recovery and CHP integration
  • By-product valorisation and waste-to-energy
  • Zero-waste plant certification and monitoring
